Save the Hills Alliance meeting announcement

Here is this year's annual meeting flyer and short news release. Please feel free to distribute and post, and forward to friends, relatives, and groups you are involved with or others to attend this meeting! Please help get the word out about this and the outstanding lineup of speakers/presenters coming to share their thoughts and opinions.

Random drawing items include DVDs, The Price of Sand and Frac Sand Land, and large mine site posters depicting visually shocking, overhead graphic representations of real, behind-the-berms frac sand mining operations.

2nd Annual Meeting of Save the Hills Alliance (Concerned Chippewa Citizens) Announced

The 2nd Annual meeting of Save the Hills Alliance (Concerned Chippewa Citizens) will be held on
 Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM 
at the Veteran’s Center
 located at E4710 Country Road BB, Menomonie, Wisconsin.  

This year’s guest speakers are three individuals known throughout Wisconsin.  Frank Koehn, from Save the Water’s Edge and the Penokee Hills Education Project in Northern Wisconsin, will address the proposed taconite mine in Northern Wisconsin and protecting the Penokee Hills, Bad River Watershed and Lake Superior.  

Frank will be introduced by Entertainer Larry HeagleEdie Ehlert, from the Crawford Stewardship Project, will discuss local sand mining issues, their lawsuit against the Town of Bridgeport on the Lower Wisconsin River State Riverway for permitting a frac sand mine, and conflict of interest issues, networking, strategies, and sharing resources.  

Mike McCabe, from the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, will speak on the condition of our democracy and how the forces seeking to subvert democracy are using their acquired power to do as they please on issues such as mining, plus other sand mining related items.  

A breakout/networking/social hour will follow the presentations along with refreshments.  Door prizes will be awarded by random drawing with no purchase necessary.  The event is free and open to the public.
