“Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children. Do not let selfish men, or greedy interests, skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.”

Save the Hills Alliance invites you to join other concerned citizens at our 2nd Annual Meeting, Oct 19

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This meeting is valuable because frac sand mining is a regional issue, and it is good to learn from others'  experiences.

Carpooling is always a good opportunity to combine energy.
Wishing you well,
Bonita

The Save the Hills Alliance invites you to join other members and concerned citizens at our upcoming 2nd Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Center in Menomonie, WI. This Annual Meeting will provide a unique opportunity to meet, greet and network with other citizen advocates with respect to mining activities in their communities.
Our keynote, action speakers include:

1)  Frank Koehn from Save The Waters Edge and the Penokee Hills Education Project. Frank will address the proposed taconite mine in Northern Wisconsin and protecting the Penokee Hills, Bad River Watershed, and Lake Superior. A homework assignment will be offered!
2)  Edie Ehlert from the Crawford Stewardship Project. Edie will discuss their local sand mining issues, recent legal challenge and conflict of interest lawsuit against the Town of Bridgeport on the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, and discuss what we need to do to become more involved.
A flyer and further information will be forthcoming. Please feel free to pass this along.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you then!
